Hi all – At each COP we work to try to organize our young researchers – early career, post-docs, grad students and undergraduates. This year we have a WhatsApp group that has been created to facilitate collaboration and social interaction!
If you are a Young RINGO – you can join the WhatsApp group by licking on this link – https://chat.whatsapp.com/JDF3KXryvHBDXelSbsRH1E.
Thank you to Jessica Hellmann from the University of Minnesota and Gillian Bowser from Colorado State University for organizing!
If you are interested in helping draft COP27 statements – please contact our RINGO statement coordinators directly:
Here is our RINGO Statements webpage for reference.
Hi all –
Like I mentioned in the coordinating meeting this morning, RINGO posts notes of contact groups and informal sessions on our notes page. It is a service we provide to the RINGO and the broader COP community. See the notes page for how to share notes. Once you send, we will post as soon as we can. It is a bit bare right now – so please share away :-).
Best,
Beth
PS – We do not post notes of side events or pavilion events – just negotiating sessions.
RINGOS – There are no tickets available for the Implementation Summit. A small number were distributed to CFPs of each constituency in appreciation of their work. These are assigned already. Please do not email your volunteer co-focal points asking about tickets :-). Thank you! Beth and Tracy
Hi all – I hope you have journeyed safely to Sharm. Remember to check the RING Website for news and updates. We will post there as we have them.
Ringo will meet each morning beginning Monday 7 November at 0900. Meetings will be held at 0900 in Side Event Room 4 – Khufu.
Best,
Beth

Communication– We will be using our website (www.ringos.net) as a primary means of communication and announcements during the COP. The page dedicated to COP27 can be found by clicking on the COP27 tab on the RINGO website. The site will be updated during the COP as we receive new information and opportunities – so remember to check it regularly. You are able to subscribe to our blog on the website (see the right-hand side of the page) – but as the note at the top of the COP27 page indicates:
This page is the main repository of information for RINGOS for COP27. More details will be added here as they become available. Last minute updates (ie meeting location change or new meeting added and occurring in the next few hours) will be posted here as well as posted as a new blog entry. To subscribe to the blog entries so that you will receive an email with the new post, please see the information on the right-hand panel. Note – edits to this post will not generate an email – so please plan on checking this regularly.
COP27 virtual platform:
COP27 virtual platform: The COP 27 virtual platform has been launched for all registered participants. Please make sure to check your access and log in in advance. Once you enter the platform, you will find a support function by clicking the floating Chat button on the bottom corner of every page. You can also email the Support Hub by clicking the headphone icon in the bottom left of your screen. There will be no remote active participation, including for Parties. Negotiations and interventions in negotiating groups will take place in-person only. So, observers and Parties joining remotely will be able to watch only.

The Presidency has announced that it intends to make a new text available at 8am Nov 13 and convene a short, informal plenary no earlier than 10am, at which these documents will be introduced and next steps will be proposed. It then plans to hold formal plenaries in the afternoon and close sometime on Saturday.
The Secretariat has announced that observer access to the closing plenaries will be limited. RINGO has 1 secondary badge for Plenary Room 1 (Pen Y Fan) and 3 secondary badges for Plenary Room 2 (Cairn Gorm) to distribute to members who attend the daily coordination meeting. In addition, the 10-min rule will be in place tomorrow for the plenary sessions. As a reminder, this basically means that:
Given the timing of the new decision text drafts and the short, informal plenary (which will be live broadcasted on UNFCCC site and on the COP26 platform), RINGO will postpone its daily coordination meeting until 12 noon. Please meet at the tables outside Side Event Room Strangford Lough (our regular meeting room during the COP). If the Armadillo is closed, then we will meet at the cafe next to the Plenary Rooms.):: :
